For my first project, I made a business to sell scrunchies with another team mate of mine. We have had so much fun making them and we are so happy that we have happy customers knowing that the profit is going to a good cause. Making these scrunchies did have it flaws. It takes about 15 minutes to make one scrunchy and a lot of patience.  Although it takes a lot of work, it is still fun to make them and to know that it is for a good cause. I am extremely happy with how this business has blown up all over school and I am very excited about where this business takes my team and I throughout this year.

For my second blog, one of my team mates and I made a bunch of Foothill colored scrunchies for back to school night. We made about 100 scrunchies for the back to school night for Foothill. It was really fun making all these scrunchies, however it took a bunch of my team mates and my time. We both had to take some time out of our own schedule and make some of them at home. We managed to get them all done before back to school night, but we didn't have that many buyers. It was a good experience to get ourselves out there by talking to a lot of parents and showing them what we are doing, however, I believe parents were the wrong target to sell our scrunchies to. I've learned that students tend to like the scrunchies more because they like to wear them for their sports and all that. We still have a bunch of Foothill scrunchies to sell and we are selling them for 3 for $6.00 which is a good price for them.

For my third week, I decided to start working more on some graphic artwork. I worked all week on my iPad and I was very happy with the outcome in my artwork. I plan on making some of my artwork onto buttons, T-shirts, and stickers. I really like to create artwork on my iPad because it allows me to put all my different ideas out there. I like to create stuff that is crazy yet very modern. I really enjoy graphic designing and I plan on majoring in that field when I go to college.

This past week, I had worked on a logo for my teacher Mr. Fitz. He has been in need of a new logo design to make stickers for his Chromebooks. My teammate and I, Hannah Heart, came up with the idea to make the logo look just like a Coca-Cola bottle sense he loves to drink diet coke. We always joke to him about how diet coke is equally as bad as regular coke, but he doesn’t listen and continues to drink a lot of diet coke. The log was pretty easy to make. All we had to do was get a picture online of a glass Coca-Cola bottle and trace it on an app I use all the time to create designs. Then, Hannah wrote in cursive to get that same Coca-Cola logo. We took a picture of it and then traced it in the blank spot on the bottle. All we need to do now is make them into stickers.

For this week, I helped clean the Dtech Lab. I organized the shelves with the acrylic and wood, mounted up the sticker holder and picked up random scraps in the lab. I felt very relieved when I cleaned the lab because the lab was getting a little messy and things needed to get put up. Also this week, I had dye sublimated a design on a shirt and mug. I was very happy with how bright the colors showed and it made the design pop. The  only problem I had with this was to center the design perfectly on the mug. The mug was a little off centered but after that run I feel like I figured it out how to make it perfectly lined up on the mug.

For this week, I used the dye sublimation once again. I really enjoy using the dye sublimation, however there are some downfalls to the programmer. The programmers name that we use is sawgrass and most of the time the program does not want to cooperate. You have to basically guess most of the time on the programmer , but sometimes it works out. This time on the dye sublimated I made an old graphic design I made my junior year. Also, I made a design for our house logo to put on shirts. I need to make a better design so it can be different and creative so I will be working on that this next couple of weeks and thin making our shirts on the dye sublimation.

For this week, I made more scrunchies for customers. I made about 15 scrunchies to sell to people and I’m sure they will like them! It is always fun to make these scrunchies because they  are very cool how they are made. I love to find new fabric for these scrunchies because most of the fabric I find is adorable and I want to make them for myself most of the time! My favorite one that I had made this week was the purple and blue flower one. I really like how these ones turned out and these one are for sure the most popular because people love this fabric design.

For my eighth week, I teamed up with my teammate Anahi. Her and I both came up with the idea to dye sublimate onto fabric to make custom scrunchies! Our first design we did was the Dodgers logo. It came out very well and I am very happy with how the colors turned out. The colors were very bright and the tuck out very well. Also, this week I designed a new logo I would like to put onto a shirt possible next week. I wanted to create a design that was very colorful and bright that would get people's attention and I thought of making an old sign. I ended up making a diner sign because I thought it was very cool and bright at the same time.

This past week, my team and I made our house shirts on the dye sublimation machine! We decided to pick a dark lavender color that would make us pop out and be different from the others in the class. The first thing I did was put our logo onto the sawgrass programmer to be able to print out onto the dye sublimation paper. Once the paper was printed, my team and I made an assembly line to make the process go faster. My job was to place the logo exactal where we want in and press down the heat transfer machine. I had a lot of fun making our house shirts and I love to dye sublimated a lot now. The only downfall I would say about the dye sublimation machine is that it is a little expensive and a 50/50 chance as being the exact same as you wished.

This week, Hannah Hart and I worked on making Fitz’s stickers. We have been making a lot of different designs to see which one is the best. We made a couple of prototypes that were good, but Hannah and I both knew we could do better. We made this one this week, but we still weren’t as happy with it and we wanted it to look better. We decided that it is best for us to rethink our design and to make it look more like a coke look. Hannah and I plan to make a better prototype next week so we can make it look way better and finally give the product to Fitz’s.

This week, Hannah Hart and I worked on Fitz’s stickers. We decided to change up the design a little to make it more like a coke bottle. We ran a lot of tests to see what design was best and we finally picked this one. This one is definitely the best pick for the stickers because it has a coke feeling. We picked the colors silver and red to have the same colors on the coke bottle. We finally finished our prototype and we are going to make the rest of the 35 stickers next week so they look great on the laptops!

For this week, I decided to help my friend who has created his own brand. My friend's name is Jacob and he asked me to make him a sticker out of his design. He has been trying to make his design a brand for the longest time and he finally made his brand. I decided to make his sticker with black vinyl paper because I felt that the color was the best but if he were to want a different color than I could do that. Another thing I did this week was create designs for cutting board for my family for gifts. For Christmas I wanted to give my grandparents a gift that is meaningful and made by me, so my team and I will be making custom designs on cutting boards.

For this week, I didn’t have a lot of time to work on anything because we had a guest speaker in class for the whole week. We got to learn how to be smart with our money and it was very interesting to learn different ways to how to save and earn money. I definitely learned a lot when we had this great opportunity to hear from a guest speaker. When I did have time to work on my projects, I worked on our new earrings. We finally got our leather fabric to cut into earrings and I feel like these will be a huge hit later down the road.

This past week, I worked on the cutting boards for my family for Christmas gifts. First, Hannah Hart and I measured the cutting boards to make sure that the design would be centered. After that, we put the cutting board into the machine and we watched it laser into the cutting board. This job took about 30 minutes for both of them. Finally, I sanded the cutting boards with 220 sandpaper to make the surface nice and flat. After sanding it, I put mineral oil all over it to get a nice looking finish. I am very happy with how the cutting boards came out and this product will definitely be a huge hit!

This week, I didn’t really have a job, instead I worked on our new Dtrch website, Shopify. I was given this great opportunity by Mr. Li and Mr. Miller to become an intern and I am truly thrilled to be apart of the team. On Shopify, I worked on adding old orders onto the POS so that we can see all the orders and see all of our procese. It was a lot of work to find out if an order was either paid or not paid yet and having to put all of it into Shopify. But after I finished putting all the orders in Shopify, it was a great accomplishment and I got the hang of how to use Shopify.

For my first week of second semester, I decided to do so graphic art to start making earrings. Hannah Hart and I have been wanting to do jewelry for the longest time, however, both of us have been busy with other jobs and other things like homework and having work. I started to work on some animal and leaf designs to make some cute earrings and necklaces. I think that these will be a great product because I believe that these jewelry pieces will be liked by others. This next week, I plan on making the earrings and necklaces this upcoming week and I am excited to make them!

This week, I started to help Hannah Hart and Lilli Li with making custom mugs. These mugs that Lilli and Hannah had design are truly beautiful and are definitely a hit. These mugs are being sold in Hannah’s home town, La Conchita. Another thing I did this week was that I made a mug for someone that wanted to have their custom. All I had to do was dye sublimate the design she wanted me to onto a mug and the mug came out great. She was very happy with how the mug turned out and she will possibly want us to make more for her in the future.

Week 2/10/2020

This week, I had two orders to make. The first order I got was a mug for a customer that had asked me on our Instagram account. She wanted me to put her design onto a mug so it was a pretty easy Job. All I had to do was dye sublimate onto a mug and that was it. The second job I had was to print out a picture of this design that the lady already had. Once again, this was also an easy job. I had Aidan Donnelly help me print out the poster so that he could be a part of this job as well. This week was pretty easy but it was really fun making these things for the two customers I got for the week.

Week 3/17/2020

This week, I didn’t have that much to do for the week. Instead of having jobs and actually producing products, I brainstormed ideas that could be a great thing to sell that people would buy. It was definitely hard trying to find things that aren’t already out there and are already known. Hannah Hart and I found a great idea on how to have a plant absorb the water. The solution was to have the water be placed into a separate area with holes so that the water would be allowed to be absorbed by the plant from the roots. We hope to do this project in the future.

Week 3/24/2020

During this week, I thought I would take advantage of the vinyl machine. I thought of making some stickers that were both custom design and name brand stickers. I also was thinking about possibly doing a heat press later this week for a T-shirt I want to make for someone that has been a part of my life for the past 3 years. I want to make a great design that will shock them and also make them super excited to wear because I want them to wear it often. I think I will make the design in the next couple of weeks and then eventually make the shirt when I know it’s the right time.

Week 3/02/2020

This week was definitely different from the other weeks I have had in DTech. We have been introduced to a couple of new house jousts that seem to be very interesting. One of the new house jousts is to make a cool looking design on a box for the company Scosche. I am actually really excited for this project because I feel like my team and I can make a really interesting desgin to amaze the people who work at Scosche. Another house jousts we have coming up later in the month is a project for NASA. I am not 100% sure what this project will be but I will hopefully get more information next week.
