Week 1/27/2020

This week was the first week of the second semester. This semester we have to complete 8 jobs and two of which we need to be lead. This week I worked with Aidan to laser cut the Fitz soldier project items. I sanded all of them and made them ready. I think that each soldier project job for a teacher will count as a different project so if that is the case then I will get three projects from completing soldier project jobs. We still need to laser cut for Mrs. Schmitt and Mr. Miller. I think I may be getting a job from my parents soon so I will take the lead on that project. This next week the main thing I want to finish is laser cutting the rest off the soldier projects so we can get done with that and start the next project.

Week 2/3/2020

This week we had to finish laser cutting most of the awards because they were due on Thursday. On Tuesday in class we did not get the laser cutter until the end of the period so I didn't even get one cut out before I had to leave. The process is pretty simple: just put the wood in the cutter, line the laser up, and adjust the settings. After that we just have to press print and watch as it keeps on cutting the awards. We decided to wrap the wood with the skinny blue tape so the job does not have that burn mark around the cuts.

Week 2/10/2020

This week Hannah told me I can help with the production stage of the girls water polo t-shirts. We are also supposed to be making the cross country poster which I haven't started making. The soldier projects jobs are done and delivered to the teachers. I don’t know if I am on the sales order checklist, but I need to check and make sure I am. I will have four completed jobs after the cross country poster house joust and those water polo shirts. I also might make earrings for my mom and grandma, but I need to figure out a cool design.

Week 2/17/2020

This week the cross country disneyland poster was due so we had to work on that. I am not that good at using photoshop, but Roy knows it better because he made most of that sports poster for the conference room. So Roy,Aidan, and I all helped to make the cross country poster. We decided to make the picture look like a cutout and that made it look fun. Aidan might also be getting a few jobs related to his family’s real estate company so we will be working on some stuff for the next few weeks every class period.

Week 2/24/2020

This week I helped with the production stage of the girls water polo t-shirts. I did not know how to use the heat press before, but now I have a good understanding of it. Aidan would print out the design on one of those big white sheets of paper. It looks backward because it has been mirrored so when we heat press it to the shirt it will read the correct way. Then I would trim the design paper so that it is easier to heat press on. Then I would watch Hannah line up the design on the shirt and close the press. It was not as difficult as I thought. When we were researching project ideas that day I came across board games that could be laser cut and I could also use the vinyl cutter to put stickers on them. I need to find my own job now because I still need my two leads or more for this semester.
